FAQ

As a job seeker you probably have a bunch of questions. Chances are that the answers are right here.

Usually, the only thing we require is a CV/resumé and a cover letter. To increase your chances of being shortlisted, we recommend that you keep your CV and cover letter short (2-4 pages for a CV and 1-2 pages for cover letter) and that they clearly reflect the tasks and qualifications mentioned in the job advert.

Sometimes, we will ask you to submit other documents (such as diplomas) – if this is the case, we will specify it in the job advert.

We only accept applications submitted electronically through our career pages (we unfortunately don’t accept applications submitted by email). To submit your application:

1. Go to Work with us

2. Find the job you want to apply for

3. Click on the button “Apply Now” and complete your application

Unfortunately, we do not accept unsolicited applications.

We encourage you to keep an eye on the open jobs posted on our website and apply when you find a relevant position. We also recommend that you subscribe to our Job Agent to receive automatic notifications for new jobs.

Occasionally, we have open calls where you can express your interest for one or several types of positions. These open calls are published just like regular jobs – so keep an eye out for those.

Yes, it is possible to make changes in your application before the application deadline by logging on to your profile.

Here are some tips if you’re having issues submitting your application:

  • Consider using a newer browser, like Chrome, Edge or Safari on a regular computer/laptop
  • Make sure all mandatory fields are completed; that you have uploaded all required documents (which are highlighted in red)
  • Clear your cache and cookies
  • If you still have technical issues, please contact [email protected]

If the deadline is today and you are having technical problems submitting your application, please complete the support form

You can get a new password on this page. Please be aware that the new password might end up in your spam mail. If you still experience difficulties, please contact [email protected].

Sometimes, external job boards contain expired adverts - even if they are no longer on our career page. We recommend that you doublecheck with our open jobs page. If you cannot find the vacancy there, the application deadline has passed (or we may have cancelled the recruitment).

Note that the deadline for applications is always 23:59 local time (where the position is based).

The deadline for applications is always 23:59 local time (where the position is based).

We only accept interns who are currently enrolled in an academic institution (universities). To view open internships in DRC go to our open jobs. Note that the end date of the internship can be no later than the last day of the month in which the intern finalizes their studies.

Unfortunately, we do not offer internships for students in primary or high school – or already finalized students.

We have a great number of volunteers in Denmark, and you can sign up here. Some of our country operations accept volunteers as well (usually only offered to nationals from the country in question though), and we recommend that you contact your local office directly.

Once you submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email (check your spam folder if you haven’t received it). If you have not received a confirmation, try to submit your application again.

After the application deadline, the selection panel will review all applications. You will be hearing back from us as soon as possible and no later than 8 weeks after the closing date. However, please note that in certain emergency contexts with limited capacity we may not be able to get back to you within that time scope.

The process depends on the type of job, but usually this is what will happen:

  1. The selection panel reviews all applications to find those with the best match with the job advert
  2. The top candidates are invited to complete a written test (depends on the type of job)
  3. Candidates who score the highest are invited for an interview (either in person or online through MS Teams)
  4. The selected candidate is contacted and asked to provide references so that we can do a background check
  5. Unsuccessful candidates receive a rejection email

Since we receive around 250,000 applications per year, we unfortunately don’t have the capacity to give individual feedback to applicants who haven’t been invited to an interview.

'National Contract' means that the position is offered on national terms and conditions. It is therefore not an international position and the terms and conditions for expatriate staff do not apply. The vacant position is still open for all nationalities as long as a work visa can be obtained (the rules & immigration laws may differ from country to country). If in doubt, we encourage you to contact the country in question.

Our national positions follow the wages, terms and working conditions of the country in question, always respecting the minimum standards set by DRC. These include extended parental leave, global standards for sick leave, insurance coverage, psychosocial support and a DRC-defined upper limit on working hours.

International contracts are mandated by Danish labor law and include a separate set of benefits. Read more about international contracts (expatriates).
