Dedication to details, readiness for daily learning, and working within short deadlines to ensure everything for the smooth work of colleagues in the field and the fulfillment of DRC’s mission, confirm that Maja is one of those who love her job.

"I thought that the procurement process in every company and organization is based on similar principles and way of working - get the necessary items as quickly as possible for as little money as possible. However, in DRC I have realized something important, something that complements me as a person and fills me emotionally on a daily basis - working in this organization in the procurement department, I, directly and indirectly, help people in need," emphasizes Maja. She started her career in the DRC as an assistant.

Working in the procurement department, she faced many challenges, such as unforeseen emergency situations in the field. Together with the rest of the team, she made efforts to provide requested goods or much-needed services in a very short period of time, despite all the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic or very small and specific market in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"I feel satisfaction and joy when the much-needed items are delivered to the colleagues in the field in a short time because I know that in this way they help people on the move who often find themselves in difficult situations on their way towards a brighter future. The goods and services are of high quality, thanks to the support of our donors and our guidelines that people on the move deserve dignified support," concludes Maja, adding that she enjoys her work because no project is the same, as is every order of necessary items.

In this way, this lover of cats, books, and crime series learns something new every day, from the specifications of meat cuts to respirators, living the work of a procurement officer to the fullest, to the satisfaction of her colleagues, as well as to the joy of the people whose daily lives are facilitated by the DRC teams.
