After gaining priceless experience during his engagement in UN and EU peace missions in BiH, Vladimir Luković joined the Danish Refugee Council in BiH. His desire and commitment to work for a humanitarian organization giving his contribution to helping people in need made him a valuable member of our team for almost four years.

“Being a Logistic Officer makes me work very important tasks behind the curtains and have the responsibility for the complete functioning and maintenance of the DRC fleet. The security of our staff is a key priority therefore I am dedicated to all activities in terms of vehicle services as well as solving and preventing possible problems with vehicles in the field. Having functional vehicles ready for use for the purpose of performing daily operations and business trips is a top of my priorities,” says Vladimir.

Vladimir’s working day can look varied and is made up of many different obligations that he always tries to arrange and finish according to priorities. He contributed to the DRC mission through the logistics support service that enables the functioning of all other services and operations in the field, also providing support to the senior management team concerning challenges that the organization may face, as well as establishing and maintaining liaison with logistics companies that have a contract with DRC.

“The biggest challenge that I face is to have all the vehicles in the fleet fully functional every moment and this is achieved through regular and periodic services, and exceptional communication and cooperation both with fellow drivers and with the employees of our vehicles supplier, where we solve everything in an expeditious manner. As the job moves at a very fast pace, sometimes I am required to make sound decisions under stressful circumstances, and to manage both inbound and outbound delivery operations and strategies,” concludes Vladimir whose responsibility is also to identify logistics issues and propose financial solutions to the senior management team.

Most of his free time, Vladimir, spends playing and having fun with his three years old son to whom he tries to be the best dad. Apart from that, he walks a lot, reads books, and listens to music which has always been a great love that makes him even amateur DJ.
